Nail art moves fast, but the designs that stay popular are the ones that wear well and grow out gracefully. Here is what we are applying most this year, with realistic timing so you can book the right appointment length.

Chrome and glazed finishes

A fine metallic powder buffed over a cured gel base gives that glass-like sheen. It suits short nails as much as long ones, and it grows out softly because the effect is uniform rather than positional. Add about 15 minutes to a standard gel appointment.

Micro-French and coloured tips

A hairline tip in colour instead of the classic thick white. Precise work, so allow 20 to 30 extra minutes, but the payoff is a look that reads as clean and intentional on any nail length.

Jelly and sheer builder finishes

Translucent tinted gels that let the natural nail show through. They flatter healthy nails, are very forgiving as they grow, and pair well with a single hand-painted accent.

Aura and airbrushed gradients

A soft halo of colour blurred into the centre of the nail. It is applied with a sponge or airbrush and cured in layers, so allow extra time. Because there are no hard lines, regrowth is much less obvious than with a classic French.

3D charms and textured detail

• Best kept to one or two accent nails rather than all ten.
• Choose flat-backed charms for anything you will type or work with.
• Expect a shorter wear window; raised elements catch and can lift.
• Always have charms removed professionally rather than pulled off.

Bring a reference photo and tell us at booking that you want art, so we can allocate the time. Detailed hand-painted designs on all ten nails can add an hour or more, and a rushed art appointment is the most common cause of disappointment.
